LIMITED EDITION PRINT NAPPY STOCKING!

You have all been asking....when can I buy more Designer Bums nappies?  The answer is..... this Wednesday evening, 6th April @ 8:30PM AEST (Victoria time).


The stocking will be held on Facebook - www.facebook.com/designerbums.  It will commence at 8:30pm AEST - I will announce "GO" on our facebook page wall.  The first people to comment SOLD on their chosen nappies will successfully purchase those nappies.  The available number of each nappy design will be listed below the nappy.  Comments written before GO is announced will be deleted.  There will be a small selection of nappies with snap fastenings available (however these nappies are VERY limited, as they are a new product line for us).


All nappies will be $25 each.  Many nappies in this stocking will be limited edition prints and are unlikely to ever be repeated again so make sure you are ready and waiting to purchase on Wednesday evening!  Inserts are not included and can be purchased separately for $9.95 per pack.  One insert pack is required for each nappy and includes 2 inserts made from 3 layers of the thirstiest bamboo fleece available.  Our inserts are contoured to fit our nappies perfectly and work brilliantly.


I will be putting a preview of most available nappies on Facebook on Tuesday or early Wednesday.  These cannot be purchased until Wednesday evening and will only be available on Facebook!


Postage will be EXPRESS POSTAGE & a flat rate of $8.50 within Australia.  All International postage will be calculated on an individual needs basis.  Please contact me for a quote if you are outside Australia.


Payment is via Paypal or Bank Deposit - all orders will be posted next week (commencing 11th April). And last but certainly not least, we have our very first shipment of nappies arriving from New Zealand, where they are currently being made, at the end of the month (fingers crossed they will be here on time)!  These nappies have been a long time coming and will be stocked on our website on their arrival.  So if you do miss out on Wednesday, you will have a chance to purchase our NZ made nappies very soon!  Please keep an eye on your inbox for a newsletter announcing their arrival as we are expecting these to go quite quickly also.  We are also launching a new product within the next few weeks which is very exciting - please stay tuned for details.

Nappy News, Moving House, Wedding Planning....

Good afternoon!

Once again I have been neglecting this blog terribly... someone told me the other day that in order for anyone to bother reading a blog, the author must post twice a week at least!  Golly gosh, how am I going to do that!  From here on you have my commitment (whoever you may be), that I will endeavour to post twice a week, even though it may be more like twice a month... I will visit you more often and rant and rave and babble....

Now for some exciting news!  I know so many of you have been waiting SO patiently for nappy news.  And I have a little snippet of news for you!  Firstly, we are having a nappy stocking next week.  It will most likely be on Wednesday, however I will confirm this when I know that I am on top of all the mountains of sewing and overlocking and cutting that needs to be done before then.

Secondly, if you do happen to miss out on the stocking, we have our very first batch of nappies arriving from New Zealand very soon!  We are hoping and crossing our fingers & toes that they will be here at the end of April but knowing how many things can go wrong with manufacturing, customs, transport etc, this could well be May.

But all in all, they will soon be on their way and in our hot little hands.  We are SO nervous and excited for them to arrive.  This has been a long time coming, with many hiccups along the way so we can assure you, they will be well worth it when they do finally get here.  We will have a large selection of designs to choose from and both snaps & velcro will be available in each design.  We also have wetbags coming too... yay!  We will reveal which designs you can expect and start drooling over very soon!

On a personal note, my darling fiance Simon and I are planning a wedding which is happening in February 2012. We certainly have a knack of taking on everything at once!  Did I mention we are also renovating a house from scratch starting NEXT WEEK?  Crazy times! I am having such a ball organising the wedding and managed to find the time to pop into the Portobello markets at St Kilda town hall over the weekend.  Can I just say, D I V I N E .  A very classy, well put together market that gave me so much inspiration for the big day.  I also managed to find a photographer, double yippee!

QLD Flood Relief Appeal NAPPY AUCTION + other news!

Hello everyone!

The devastation and aftermath of the horrific flooding in QLD has shocked us all.  We hosted an auction for a nappy on Facebook last week which raised a wonderfully generous $150 to go towards the relief.  I have another auction to announce to raise further much needed funds for the QLD Flood Relief Appeal. So many of my customers have been affected by this tragedy and I feel so helpless being down in Melbourne and unable to physically help so the next best thing to physically helping rebuild is to donate. Every cent counts towards rebuilding lives and families.

In other news, we certainly sailed past 1750 fans on Facebook.... and kept on sailing right past 2000.  The count now sits at approximately 2025.  We had a great stocking last Thursday evening.  114 nappies were put up for sale, with all stock selling out in about ten minutes flat.  For those of you who managed to secure nappies, well done!  For the others who missed out, I am so sorry!  As many of you know, I make each and every nappy by hand which I LOVE, however it also makes for a very limited number of nappies available each stocking.


I can assure you all that I am working on ways to increase production of these nappies.  I am currently on the hunt for a manufacturer who will uphold the standard and quality of Designer Bums so that I can stock nappies on my website on a full-time basis, as well as supply a couple of little nappy stores with some stock also :)  When this time comes in the very near future, nappy stockings will become a thing of the past!  So please bear with me whilst I organise ways to provide you all (er... I mean, your babies) with lovely nappies :)


I am also looking at bringing our next stocking forward to very early Feb.  I will keep you all updated as to the exact date as well as some other exciting upcoming DB news!

Nappy News!

Hello Everyone - just 18 days to Christmas and I still haven't done a spot of Christmas shopping!  I better get my act together soon or Santa may not be good to me this year...!


Some of you may be aware that a stocking was held on my website a couple of weeks ago.  Well, it started on the website (which crashed dismally) and then was moved to Facebook so turned out OK in the end.  I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely APOLOGISE to everyone that was involved in the stocking and was inconvenienced.  I know that there were many of you with nappies in your cart, who were unable to checkout.  Hopefully most of you managed to score a nappy or two on Facebook!  


As promised to make up for the disaster, I will be holding another stocking next week.  I'll be sending out a newsletter in a few days to officially announce a date.  Many of the nappies available will be the same as in the previous stocking minus a few designs that completely sold out on the night (I'm waiting on more fabric to arrive).  To be kept informed of the stocking dates, please make sure you're subscribed to our newsletter on the website.


I will try and post before Christmas - however if I don't, I would like to wish you all a very SAFE and Merry Christmas.  Thank you all so much for your support and understanding this year and I promise that next year will bring many more nappies :)

The 6 week countdown is on!

I know - I keep saying it.  But I can't believe it's nearly Christmas already!  The year has flown by and has bought SO many changes with it.  Our year has been an enormous one - with starting Designer Bums, moving house (twice!), buying a house, starting to renovate a house & selling a house.  Yes, we are only a little crazy ;)


All has been very positive though and next year things on the home-front will hopefully quieten down a little...


In nappy news, I'll be at Mathilda's Market on Sunday 21st November.  It's a special Christmas market and will be held indoors at Caulfield Racecourse from 9am-1pm.  I've heard that over 100 stallholders will be there - EXCITING!  Hope to see you all there!


Nappy Stockings - I'm excited to announce that I have enlisted a couple of lovely local Melbourne girls to help out with some sewing.  This will certainly make my life a ton easier and will also give my customers a chance to purchase nappies as I'll be stocking them more regularly.  I am looking for more helpers at the moment - I really want to keep production in Australia for as long as possible - preferably forever! I'm aiming for a stocking in 2 weeks so stay tuned!
