FINAL COMPETITION TASK

Hi all!

OK, your final task to enter our competition is as follows:

I am about to upload an album onto Facebook, containing the photo below.  You must tag yourselves in ONE of the photos in this album and then come back here to report that you have done so.  By reporting on the blog, it makes it far easier to track all of your entries.

This task is for a competition to go into the draw to purchase a very hungry caterpillar nappy for $1.  This competition is in no way associated with or endorsed by Facebook.

THE BIG REVEAL! YAY! FINALLY!!

Finally! Our New Zealand nappies are now only a couple of days away. This has been a long time waiting and we are so excited! The nappies will be loaded onto the website for sale on this coming Monday 30th May. We will announce on Facebook when they have be loaded so please head over to our Facebook page and become a fan if you're not already.

There SHOULD be plenty of nappies to go around, however, judging by the incredible amount of interest and anticipation we have had leading up to this shipment arriving, we believe that a lot of the stock, especially the more popular designs, will sell out VERY FAST. If you don't want to miss out on your favourite nappies, please keep an eye on Facebook on Monday and put your order through our website as soon as you are able to.

As you are all aware, our nappies are made in New Zealand and will be with us any day now. Because our bamboo fleece is spun and manufactured in China, due to the cost of transporting the bamboo to New Zealand and then to Australia being far too great, so we had no choice but to find a local factory to help us make our inserts. We were lucky enough to find a small family owned and run factory in Shanghai to make up our inserts for us, and they are also on their way, due in a few days after the nappies. So please be aware that there may be a 3-5 day delay on your order being sent whilst we wait for our inserts to arrive. 

Wetbags will be available in most designs.

We have a number of wonderful retailers on board who will be stocking our nappies in Australia, New Zealand and UK. We are thrilled to be working with each and every one of these stores and will be introducing them all separately over the coming days.

Amongst nappies, we will also have other products available on our website including rocking green laundry powder and biodegradable flushable liners. Please keep an eye out for these.Thank you all so much for your support and patience over the last few months. 

We look forward to being able to supply you all with gorgeous nappies and we are currently choosing fabrics for our next big shipment - can't wait to show you all!!

MAY GIVEAWAY COMPETITION DETAILS!

Hello everyone!  We have gained a lot of new friends on Facebook over the past few days and would like to extend a big WELCOME to all of you!  As you are probably all aware, our shipment of delightfully colourful nappies have LANDED in Melbourne and should be on our doorstep on Friday.  We are so excited we are about to JUMP out of our skins ;)  The nappies will be loaded onto our website for sale on Monday or Tuesday next week.

OK, now for the competition guidelines :

To celebrate reaching 3500 fans on Facebook, we will be giving away a VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR nappy to one lucky fan for just $1.  It is necessary for us to charge $1 instead of simply giving away the nappy, due to Facebook rules.

This competition is open to Australian residents only, however we will be holding another competition next week for International entries only.

Two week nappy countdown!

We wanted to let you all know that the nappies are on their way and will arrive on our doorstep in two weeks time! Wholesale order forms went out to our retailers yesterday - we will be announcing who they are in the next week or so. We will also be releasing our new prints at the same time. We hope you are all as excited as we are?!

In between organising nappy shipments from New Zealand and trying to organise our one bedroom rental apartment into some sort of organised office space for the nappies to go, I've been browsing Etsy today and look what I found! How cute is this doorstop by tigesandweince?

I can't wait for the renovations on our house to be finished so that I can set up my study properly and get organised- I hate being disorganised!! We are getting there.....

New Zealand Nappy News!

Hey everyone!

I know that many of you have been patiently waiting for an update on our first shipment of nappies coming from New Zealand.  There have been some delays in the process - just usual things - which means that the nappies are now due to arrive on my doorstep on the 25th May.  There will be plenty of nappies to go around and we are hoping that they sell quickly so that we can put in an order for our second shipment!  I think I'm more addicted to fabrics than anything....

We will be selling the nappies on our website, as well as through certain stockists.  At this stage, we have a number of stockists lined up in Australia, a couple of potential stockists in New Zealand and one in the UK.

As well as nappies & bamboo inserts, we will be stocking wetbags, biodegradable liners, merino wool shorties & longies and Rockin Green laundry powder.  We are also in the process of testing our night nappies which will be on their way shortly, after we have satisfied testing requirements.  Exciting times ahead at Designer Bums!!

We will be giving everyone plenty of notice before the nappies arrive so stay tuned to Facebook for updates.  Please also subscribe to the newsletter on our website to be kept in the loop via newsletters.

LIMITED EDITION PRINT NAPPY STOCKING!

You have all been asking....when can I buy more Designer Bums nappies?  The answer is..... this Wednesday evening, 6th April @ 8:30PM AEST (Victoria time).


The stocking will be held on Facebook - www.facebook.com/designerbums.  It will commence at 8:30pm AEST - I will announce "GO" on our facebook page wall.  The first people to comment SOLD on their chosen nappies will successfully purchase those nappies.  The available number of each nappy design will be listed below the nappy.  Comments written before GO is announced will be deleted.  There will be a small selection of nappies with snap fastenings available (however these nappies are VERY limited, as they are a new product line for us).


All nappies will be $25 each.  Many nappies in this stocking will be limited edition prints and are unlikely to ever be repeated again so make sure you are ready and waiting to purchase on Wednesday evening!  Inserts are not included and can be purchased separately for $9.95 per pack.  One insert pack is required for each nappy and includes 2 inserts made from 3 layers of the thirstiest bamboo fleece available.  Our inserts are contoured to fit our nappies perfectly and work brilliantly.


I will be putting a preview of most available nappies on Facebook on Tuesday or early Wednesday.  These cannot be purchased until Wednesday evening and will only be available on Facebook!


Postage will be EXPRESS POSTAGE & a flat rate of $8.50 within Australia.  All International postage will be calculated on an individual needs basis.  Please contact me for a quote if you are outside Australia.


Payment is via Paypal or Bank Deposit - all orders will be posted next week (commencing 11th April). And last but certainly not least, we have our very first shipment of nappies arriving from New Zealand, where they are currently being made, at the end of the month (fingers crossed they will be here on time)!  These nappies have been a long time coming and will be stocked on our website on their arrival.  So if you do miss out on Wednesday, you will have a chance to purchase our NZ made nappies very soon!  Please keep an eye on your inbox for a newsletter announcing their arrival as we are expecting these to go quite quickly also.  We are also launching a new product within the next few weeks which is very exciting - please stay tuned for details.

Nappy News, Moving House, Wedding Planning....

Good afternoon!

Once again I have been neglecting this blog terribly... someone told me the other day that in order for anyone to bother reading a blog, the author must post twice a week at least!  Golly gosh, how am I going to do that!  From here on you have my commitment (whoever you may be), that I will endeavour to post twice a week, even though it may be more like twice a month... I will visit you more often and rant and rave and babble....

Now for some exciting news!  I know so many of you have been waiting SO patiently for nappy news.  And I have a little snippet of news for you!  Firstly, we are having a nappy stocking next week.  It will most likely be on Wednesday, however I will confirm this when I know that I am on top of all the mountains of sewing and overlocking and cutting that needs to be done before then.

Secondly, if you do happen to miss out on the stocking, we have our very first batch of nappies arriving from New Zealand very soon!  We are hoping and crossing our fingers & toes that they will be here at the end of April but knowing how many things can go wrong with manufacturing, customs, transport etc, this could well be May.

But all in all, they will soon be on their way and in our hot little hands.  We are SO nervous and excited for them to arrive.  This has been a long time coming, with many hiccups along the way so we can assure you, they will be well worth it when they do finally get here.  We will have a large selection of designs to choose from and both snaps & velcro will be available in each design.  We also have wetbags coming too... yay!  We will reveal which designs you can expect and start drooling over very soon!

On a personal note, my darling fiance Simon and I are planning a wedding which is happening in February 2012. We certainly have a knack of taking on everything at once!  Did I mention we are also renovating a house from scratch starting NEXT WEEK?  Crazy times! I am having such a ball organising the wedding and managed to find the time to pop into the Portobello markets at St Kilda town hall over the weekend.  Can I just say, D I V I N E .  A very classy, well put together market that gave me so much inspiration for the big day.  I also managed to find a photographer, double yippee!
